A taxidermed boar's head, a boombox AND a giant Rubik's cube...

Justin's apartment certainly wins first prize for interior decoration.

HAIL

Not rain...not snow... but something in between that is infintely more unpleasant to get caught in

Funky decor, Bar Waldorf, Elandsstraat.

What a fine modern gentleman

Just going for a stroll at noordermarkt in his Saturday best

'Music Cultures Exposed' Jazz Party

A thoroughly enjoyable arty party; complete with free booze, a photography exhibition and a live performance from Dutch band 'Wicked Jazz Sounds'.

Vintage Vespa

You cannot tell from this picture, but it is snowing heavily outside. This colourful number stood out like a beacon!

Bike Accoutrements: Plastic Fantastic

I know my photos are predominantly of bikes, but you really see something new every day! I'm not sure I'd want any of the adorable Disney characters to grace my handlebars, but I could certainly tolerate some flowers.

Rodchenko @ FOAM

A Russian master of photomontage! Rodchenko and his pals were committed to defining a communist direction for all forms of art.

My new vice

Really can't get enough

Little pieces of cool crop up in the most unlikely of places.

The 'Vince Noir' of the bikes

Every Amsterdammer aims to imbue their ride with a certain touch of personality, but this lovely lady- dressed wheel-to-wheel in silver sequins and a fur collar is certainly a true individual.

Hallelujah!

Ever wondered what a Valentine's Day-themed gay party set in a church in a small squatter's village on the outskirts of Amsterdam looks like?

I have all the answers.

Nederlandse kat

So the good news is....all Dutch bars have a resident feline! I have been told it is an old Dutch law that all bars had to keep one to control the mice. Certainly increases my experience of "gezellig" when I feel like a drink.

The walls have eyes...

Tuesday: A fresh blanket

I can't walk again, but I was almost starting to miss it!

Greenery + Scenery

The latest additions to the windowsill... Apparently this lamb's load will grow into daffodils. We'll see.

Gluvein

Fast becoming my winter drink of choice. Anything to steer clear of Heineken.

Tile art?

I love this mixed-up patchwork of different tiles, it works so well!

More street art: Yarn Bombing

A woolly phenomenon! Yarn Bombing or Knitta is a variation on street art, but with a fuzzy three dimensional twist. Knitta was started in the US and is now being imitated by copycats all over the world.

Art about town: Sticker Art

Graffiti and stencil art are a bit thin on the walls, but if you keep your eyes peeled, there is an abundance of sticker art. The subtlety of the tiny stickers makes them pretty hard to spot, but all the more satisfying when you do discover one.

Apple Tart

The famous Dutch apple tart. Beautiful and doughy, lots of fruit and cinnamon. Unbeatable when served with cream.

My Little Bike

A very special addition to someone's mudguard. It's all about the details.

Fog

A new meteorological phenomenon for me here in Amsterdam: Fog. It rolled in this morning and stayed all day.

Kewpie Jewels

Some seriously cool jewellery with a seriously un-cool pricetag, by Dutch brand "Gem Kingdom". Might have to stop eating...

An interesting place for the rain to rest
